... Wind Advisory remains in effect from 3 PM this afternoon to
3 am EST Sunday...

* locations... much of north Georgia including the Atlanta Metro.

* Winds... southwest winds will increase to 15 to 20 mph with
higher gusts during the late afternoon. This evening, winds will
shift to the northwest behind a cold front with speeds
increasing to 20 to 25 mph with gusts of 35 mph.

* Timing... 3 PM this afternoon until 3 am Sunday.

* Impacts... strong winds will bring down large tree limbs and
some weaker trees. Unsecured outdoor items may be blown around.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Wind Advisory means that sustained wind speeds of at least
20 mph... or gusts to 35 mph or stronger are expected. Winds this
strong can make driving difficult... especially for high profile
vehicles. Use extra caution.

Issued: 3:31 AM EST Nov. 18, 2017 – National Weather Service

... High fire danger conditions this afternoon into the evening
for parts of north and central Georgia due to strong winds...

Sustained winds of 20 to 25 mph can be expected along with gusts
of 30 mph. Gusts may reach as high as 40 mph in the mountains. Relative
humidities will remain high at 50 to 60 percent.

With dry fuels, high fire danger conditions can be expected.

Please refer to your local burn permitting authorities
concerning whether your may burn outdoors. If you do burn
outside, use extreme caution.
